After having practised investment banking for 18 years over different locations – Kuala Lumpur, Jakarta and East Malaysia – Jacqueline made a career shift to focus on entrepreneurship in her home state, Sarawak.
In 2012, she incorporated Tanoti Sdn. Bhd. to assume a Kuching-based workshop of weavers previously funded by the Yayasan Tuanku Nur Zahirah. Tanoti is today an award-winning social enterprise to preserve heritage crafts, empower women and build rural communities. From a community of 11 weavers in 2012, Tanoti
today engages with more than 480 artisans residing in 25 rural and remote communities across Sarawak.
Tanoti is recipient of the Sarawak Chief Minister’s Industry Excellence Award 2022 (Silver Prize, Small Business Category) and winner of the Malaysian Tourism Council Award 2022 in Indigenous Crafts and Experiential
Tourism.
The company is an accredited social enterprise by the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and
