Aaliya -  is a young, talented weaver who runs a small business in a village in Sarawak. Despite her skills and dedication, she is disillusioned and feels the heavy burden of financial struggles. Aaliyah is torn between her sense of responsibility to her employees and her longing for a better, easier life.

OPEN ROLE

OPEN ROLE

MALE
Playing Age: 22 - 32

The Merchant - is a slick, persuasive businessman who sees an opportunity to profit from Aaliya’s talent by mechanising the weaving process. He is the main antagonist, representing modernity and industrialisation at the cost of tradition and community.

The Boyfriend - Aaliya’s love interest is a supportive yet conflicted figure. He genuinely cares for Aaliya but is influenced by the merchant’s promises of a better future.

OPEN ROLE

The Magic Cloth - is an enchanted piece of fabric that possesses sentience and a deep connection to the heritage and history of the weaving community. It acts as a guardian and guide for Aaliya, helping her rediscover the value of her craft and the importance of preserving their traditions.

PLEASE NOTE: Though it does not speak, the Magic Cloth communicates through its movements, patterns, and the mystical experiences it creates. This is a very physically demanding role
